Dura Greens Synthetic Golf Solutions

Turf Descriptions

Dura Greens Golf CourseAfter years of research, DuraGrass Companies has launched DuraGreens, "synthetic golf solutions" and Duralawn, "synthetic lawn solutions" product lines. Our turf is the most realistic, highest quality synthetic grass on the planet. We offer an array of synthetic turf products, from synthetic tee boxes, bunker and water hazards, patio turf, indoor putting greens, chipping fringe, and lawns. From backyards, to driving ranges, to indoors, to rooftops our turf products are the superior choice.

Our turf is constructed with either UV-treated polypropylene, polyethylene or nylon yarn secured with a UV-stabilized woven polypropylene/Urethane or rubber all-weather backing. Our turf is double "tip-sheared" at the mill to provide the ultimate ball roll and putting surface. Best of all, our turf comes with a 6-year or 12-year limited warranty.

DuraGrass offers every type of turf available in the synthetic turf industry. Many companies claim this, but only offer one or two types of turf. We offer a full product line of UV-treated polypropylene and nylon turf products for our customers to choose from. The most important factor to consider when choosing a synthetic turf is the intended purpose. How does the customer intend to use their turf?

Other important facts to consider when choosing a turf:

Polypropylene is a form of plastic. All polypropylene turfs require some sand-fill to perform well. There are a couple of reasons why you need to in-fill a polypropylene turf. The most important reason is because the fibers cannot stand upright on their own. In-fill is also required to help prevent the fibers from becoming matted down. Adding sand-fill to a putting green will equate to periodic maintenance, despite claims to the contrary. Heavily sand-filled greens will become hard over time, and will require a little more maintenance to provide good performance. These sand-filled turf products require 4-8 pounds of sand per sq. ft., and must be brushed and re-filled with sand if the sand-fill becomes compacted or washed away. With the right in-fill, polypropylene provides an excellent surface for receiving long approach shots. (The sand/rubber-fill helps disperse the energy of a ball when hit into a green from any significant distance.) Putting on a polypropylene sand-filled turf does have a drawback however. You will experience a "grainy" effect when you putt on a sand-filled polypropylene turf. This means that the ball will roll faster with the grain than against the grain similar to a real bermuda grass green. This effect will occur with all polypropylene products that you choose.

Nylon & Nylon-sand-filled turf is much denser than polypropylene sand-filled turf. Our nylon turf is heat-set in the mill to create a "memory" in the fibers which will resist becoming matted down by springing back to their original upright position. That is why our nylon products require a minimal, to zero, amount of sand-fill. Nylon is also a much stronger fiber than polypropylene and will resist fading and wear in all weather conditions. Our sand filled nylon products have been specifically designed as excellent all-purpose turfs. They give you superb putting performance without a grain effect. Also, by adding a small amount of sand-fill to your putting green, you can increase the speed of your green. Nylon synthetic turf does not require maintenance after it is installed. Whether you choose a sand-filled or non sand-filled nylon turf, the surface of your green can be cleared of debris easily, by either blowing or sweeping the surface.
